Dogs of Portland | Week One

Well we find ourselves at the end of Week One of our Dogs of Portland blog series. Our goal with this blog is to get out into Portland and meet a new four legged friend each day and learn a bit about what makes them tick and of course get a look at their adorable faces! You can expect to find new images and new stories Monday through Friday. Saturday we will post our end of week wrap up and post some of the best outtakes from the week as well. Join us won’t you…

All blog projects are started with the best of intentions and this one is no different. The only difference is the successful ones keep on trucking, working and staying motivated while the others, well they just don’t. Here is to the successful end of Week One. Here is to the continued success for Week Two. Here is to you all that have come along for the rider. Sláinte!

Dogs of Portland | Ezzy + Anna

Day 4 of our new blog series, Dogs of Portland, posed a few challenges. Mainly it has been raining cats and dogs (and not the kind I can photograph) for hours now and everywhere I look for dogs out enjoying the day there are none to be found.

So instead of going outwards to meet some new four legged animal friends, we at FFP turn our cameras inside, towards our own Fur Family. Say hello to Ezzy and Anna!

B&W portrait of my beautiful cat Ezzy. She is a domestic medium hair (read mutt in cat terminology)! Anna the chinchilla waits in the door to her cage for a treat

Dogs of Portland | Oreo Cookie + Smokey

Welcome to Day 3 of our new blog series Dogs of Portland. Today we headed out into the city to meet a new dog, photograph them and ask their humans to answer a couple of questions about their adorable Fur Family. Check back often to meet some of the most amazing citizens on four legs that Portland has to offer!

Came upon this lovely brother and sister pair while strolling through Peninsula Park in North Portland today. They were out walking and enjoying the sunshine with their mom and their auntie. Dogs are not a norm for this park which caters a bit more to runners and families with children so we had the run of the park to ourselves and found many different locations to play around with making images. All in all a good time was had by all!

Oreo poses for the camera standing on a tree stump. Beautiful bushes and white flowers frame her standing off to the left in the image.

Daily we will head out into the city to meet a new dog, photograph them and ask their humans to answer a couple of questions about their adorable Fur Family. These two doggie BFF’s were out and about with their moms this morning and we ran across them playing ball together at Arbor Lodge Park. They were eager to be models for the day and for first timers I think they did themselves and their humans proud.

Yellow lab running through a lush, green park. The camera pans along with the actions so the background is nicely blurred while the dog is in crisp focus. Good motion
